Peter Benninger announces plans to build and relocate to 3-storey office building in the Lancaster business park

On February 22, at a general meeting held by Peter Benninger in the Council Chambers of Kitchener’s City Hall, staff of Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty favourably received the news that the company would be constructing and relocating to a brand new, state of the art facility, in the Lancaster Business Park on Riverbend Drive.

Coldwell Banker will occupy half of the 57,000-square-foot building and lease out the remainder. The office will accommodate the 125 people who currently work in the four offices located in Kitchener-Waterloo. Coldwell Banker will keep its residential real estate office in Elmira.

The move allows Coldwell Banker Peter Benninger Realty to incorporate new technology and features, such as information databases, which enable a modern real estate operation to function effectively. The first floor of the Brokerage firm will be consumer-focused, offering the public the opportunity to conduct research, and search for property on computer kiosks. Coldwell Banker is an industry leader in niche markets such as vacation, new homes and luxury properties through its Previews® division, and a pioneer in consumer services with its Coldwell Banker Conciergesm program. Peter Benninger has taken the lead to establish these divisions, and is anxious to unroll them from his new central location. As for the actual building and its location, "The need to be geographically spread out over the community is not there like it was 15 or 20 years ago," company president Peter Benninger said. "Technology allows information to be disseminated in different ways." Benninger said the building's exterior is inspired by Waterloo Region's industrial heritage, while the interior is influenced by the area's burgeoning high-tech sector. "As I traveled around the community in the last year or so, I looked at what a lot of the high-tech companies have done to create good working environments," he said.

The building was designed by architect Andrew Bousfield and will be constructed by Melloul-Blamey. Construction will start this spring with occupancy scheduled for the fall.
